Gomes Traded, Alonso Called Up

Tuesday, Johnny Gomes was traded to the Nationals in exchange for two minor league prospects. Yonder Alonso, the Reds 3rd best prospect, was called up to replace Gomes' major league position.

The Reds received OF Bill Rhinehart and P Chris Manno from the Washington Nationals. Manno has a 1.29 ERA as a professional. He was the 38th Round pick of the Nationals. Rhinehart is batting .261 in his career in the organization. Rhinehart was the 11th Round pick of the Nationals in 2007.
